2.25.03 11:31 PM (Tuesday)  Physics Test Group
After a semi-stressful day at school (it was only stressful because of two tests; an objective test during Gov't 1st period, and a harder AP Chem test 2nd period) I went Downtown to test out some Physics software. It was pretty fun actually. If I didn't know the basic concepts of motion before, I definitely do now :) With Calculus too. I wonder why Mike wasn't there. I was going to tell Jenny but I didn't get the chance. But I saw another Ballard Jenny there. And I forgot to e-mail Anna the info. Hmm.
2.24.03 3:13 AM (Monday)  Thoughts on Break
What a complete waste of time! And yet I was semi-busy. Not as busy as a regular school week though. But for some reason I pulled an accidental all-nighter Thursday night/Friday because of due dates.

I didn't hang out at all like I planned, but it was okay. At least I was out and active and still saw a few ppo...

This new song by Ryota Mitsunaga is pretty good. "Always"... very upbeat.

This next week will be hell and I already know it. I haven't started HW yet... I need to do three things, mainly study Q's for Gov't, McBennett Q's, and AP Chem EC. And I only have 3 more hours! I wonder how I'll do it all... slacker me X_x

Besides usual band practice/Central juggling I have Physics Focus Group on Tuesday/Thursday, and Inroads corporate fair on Thursday. I have no idea what I'll be doing Thursday, but hopefully it will go smoothly.

I wish we had one more day X_x I always wish this whenever weekends/breaks end.
2.21.03 4:38 AM (Friday)  Working on resume
I just had a strange thought. My overall GPA at UW was 3.73. My GPA at Central was 3.73. Am I really just another above-average college student?

I'm pretty sure my GPA at Central this quarter will be higher... hmm.

I had a really deep conversation with Jenny last night (well, Wednesday night.) Didn't occur to me how much we have in common in terms of how we deal with other ppo socially...

Right now I'm working on my resume to submit to Inroads later on. It's so hard considering my lack of experience!

I pretty must wasted break...
2.19.03 9:02 PM (Wednesday)  The day at Central
Today was spent somewhat relaxingly at Central. I got there around 3 because I needed to order a transcript. From 3 to about 4 I tried doing AP Chem extra credit, but to no avail--I didn't even have a piece of paper in my Chem binder (which was all I brought) to do the questions on. Suddenly Jamie came, eased the tedium somewhat, and we basically conversed for about an hour and a half. He had nasty Yasuko's... gah I hate their teriyaki! By 5:20 or so he had to leave for his Chemistry class, and I tried getting some sleep...

But five minutes into my short slumber Anna tapped me on my right shoulder, and I was like "was that real or am I just imagining things..." then on my left shoulder, then I turned around and I was like "ohhh..." (I was dazed because I was so tired!) But yeah. We chilled until our classes started.

Class was regular, we learned how to do forms which I paid attention to because I've never done any type of forms by hand before. During the last 30 minutes we had worktime to do whatever, I used the time to look up the nature of farts and poop at bored.com O_O Kinda fun..ny. Funny.
2.18.03 10:39 PM (Tuesday)  Penn interview
Just got back from the Bellevue Square Starbucks, where I had my University of Pennsylvania interview. It was kinda funny because during the first few minutes of the interview I saw Eugene sauntering in for his interview, and I was like "what a coincidence!" But the interview went well I think, a little short and rushed, and the questions were somewhat random and hard to answer. Again, overall: well.
2.17.03 10:42 PM (Monday)  Yale interview, and
I had my Yale interview today. It went pretty well, I mean it was a good interview but I don't think I got to reveal as much of myself as I did during the last one. But it's all good.

I just watched the newest episode of the Real World/Road Rules Battle of the Sexes. The drama w/ the girls makes the show so much more exciting... the comment that Ellen made to Ruthie at the end was kinda stupid (that it was all Emily's fault) so I can see why lots of people don't like her. Nonetheless, Ellen, along with Puck, are undoubtedly the "stars" of the show. But yeah... intense... haha. That's all I can say about that.
  2.16.03 11:33 PM (Sunday)  Mid-winter Break
Tuesday came, nothing exciting went on during the day. I got home via bus, was going to take a nap, and then my sister bursted into my room and was like "So are you coming or not?"

We went to Oberto's and got some Beef Jerky. I came back at around 5 PM, and I knew Armand was going to pick me up soon, so I quickly showered and got ready. He didn't come until about 5:45 or so though. And then we picked up Graham, and headed to RHS.

The Talent Show... it went pretty well. Roosevelt is such a strange school. We didn't win either, but it was still fun.

When I got home I decided to take a small nap. I ended up napping for too long. When I woke up the next day I decided to stay home... my second sick day this year. It really sucked because there was a lot going on, and I couldn't distribute the beef jerky either.

Wednesday afternoon I went to Central for registration + class. Registration was kinda long, and I'm only taking one class next quarter. I stayed at the usual spot afterwards doing Chem HW, whereupon I came across Wendy, who chilled for a while.

Class was usual... we're actually going over new stuff, which is great. We learned more about frames.

Thursday was supposed to be busy but it wasn't. During tutorial I thought I was going to make up Physics test but I needed to do AP Chem Worksheet more, so I headed up to AP Chem and worked throughout tutorial. It turned out we had a work day, however.

Physics we had a strange lab. I asked Dr. P on an extension on the HW, which was granted (thankfully!) Lunch at Jack in the Box. Annual finished scanning + editing art while Sonya lectured to the new staffers (and old staffers as well.)

Afterschool I went home! and took a nap. I procrastinated so badly but I needed to get so much done. I did the AP Chem lab first--5 pages of calculations and 2 of discussion. It was so bad, but at that point I didn't really care. And then I did Gov Q's, but I didn't study for the test. Finally I did Physics HW + studying. Such a busy night.

Friday was also quite busy. During tutorial I made up the Physics test. Gov't we had a mult choice which I got 66% on (yeah it's actually good considering I haven't done any of the reading nor do I listen to the lectures at all). Math was spent doing Wuthering Heights Q's. And AP LA went by kinda slowly... we had a timed write about a dead toad.

I came home again, took another long nap, and studied for the Online Geography quiz. I amazingly did quite well, only 3 questions wrong out of 40, with a 92%. (one of them was sadly a careless error.) But I'm happy about it.

Yesterday I woke up early for the second Inroads thing. Yeah it was actually longer than the first. Saw the usual ppo... Mike, James, Pablo, Ada, and JASON (that was the his name, not Johnny.... haha). Wendy came during lunch. But it finally ended, and Wendy and I caught the bus to Chinatown, where I bought food at Honey Court, and the 36 home.

I hope this break is restful. Tomorrow is my Yale interview; the alum actually lives really close by. On Tuesday is my Penn interview. Wednesday I have class. And then the rest should be free for whatever.. :)
2.10.03 9:54 PM (Monday)  More stuff
Saturday was quite a doozy! I got like 4 or 5 hours of sleep and I woke up bright and early to go to Inroads. Actually I was supposed to work on album art and not go to sleep but i just decided, "fuck it." But it's all good.

I showered, got dressed in my suit, rode the 48 down to Safeco Corporate HQ. On the way in I saw James, who I didn't expect to see. He was clad in a Seafair Blazer with a Seafair nametag and a Seafair notebook, ooh. But anyway. Got in, paid check of $35, went to the breakfast buffet, which was kinda meager, but satisfying nonetheless. Pablo was there too, and I met this dude named Johnny (I think) who did UW Academy, and he's from Mercer Island. And of course, Mike, Wendy, and Ada were there as well.

It was kinda funny cuz during breakfast I kinda wore James's nametag and forgot about it. It's really nice though. I like it. So I was James for the day.

First off we had a little intro welcoming speech, kinda cool. After that we split up into our workshop groups which we were in the entire day. I was in a group with Wendy and Johnny (I hope that was his name... or was it Danny? hmm) And yeah. The speakers didn't really tell me anything that didn't seem common sense, but they had a way of pounding common sense into me, which was kinda useful. During lunch we had a shoebox express-type deal, pretty good. And the day dragged on.

After our training Wendy and I stopped by Chinatown to pick up flowers for Amy, but the flower was closed. I still needed to get Amy a present so we went to Uwaji where I picked it up impromptu (yeah I'm bad, but I was quite busy..)

So we went home afterwards. I kinda chilled until Wendy picked me up about an hour later. I brought my DDR pads. And we were off to Amy's b-day party.

Pretty fun, it was mostly DDR and chilling. More emphasis on the chilling. But everyone left at around 10 or so, and it was just a few of us left. We practically did absolutely nothing for three hours until Amy dropped the rest of us home.

So Saturday night I finally caught up on my sleep. I got home around 12:30 or so, and slept until 2 PM Sunday when Spree called and woke me up. I needed to finish album art.

So I did that for like four or five hours and then I finally finished. AP Chem lab was next, but for the first two hours I couldn't really do anything because no one knew how to do the calculations. I think I finished around 1 or so. Then Annual Art came next, I did about three pieces, followed by AP Gov't test. Took an hour nap.

And today... man. First period I finally saw the fruits of my efforts when Spencer gave me a complementary copy of his band's CD, which looked awesome. Sounds pretty neato too. The gov't test I didn't study for wasn't too hard considering I read none of the chapter whatsoever, I just relied on a quick 5-minute skim of our study packet and the knowledge gained from doing study q's.

Lunch was another Key Club officer's meeting, we *finally* finished counting the coins. Yay. Now to count them totaled and deposit them and send them to UNICEF.

Afterschool went to Roosevelt for dress rehearsal for Talent Show. Kinda weird.. I really don't like the songs we'll be playing tomorrow, but whatever. We walked the halls of RHS and man, it looked *exactly* like GHS. Strange. Afterwards we went to Kjell's for some emergency practice but it didn't seem like we got too much done, oh well. It's all good. Alex dropped me off at Central... I took some time to buy a badly needed pen for art, and then headed off to WEB 120.

WEB 120 was usual. I actually participated today, in that I helped pick out colors for one of our class activities, ooh. But yeah. Now I'm home, exhausted, procrastinating cuz it took hella long to type this up, and I think I will pull another all-nighter. Just a few more days til break... well, gotta get through the next Inroads training, but regardless...
2.7.03 9:20 PM (Friday)  Really tired
Can't believe I haven't updated for the past three days. Oh yeah. Wednesday we had a shortened day, so I rode the bus home and fell asleep and didn't go to Central. Oh well. Thursday we had AP Chem lab from hell the return, a semi-fun Physics lab involving sound and music, API Meeting Annual pix + Key Club during lunch, being late to Annual to go to Ezell's, and random Annual things. Last night was hellish because I had to do so much, I only ended up doing Wuthering Heights reading and the first unit of Study Q's for Gov't.

Today... just came back from long Downtown adventure with Mike. Basically, we experienced hell on earth when we went to buy suits... but yeah... couldn't go to Ada's thing, couldnt' go to surprise Armand party. Gotta finish Spencer's art and Geography HW tonight, with only 2 hours of sleep in the past 48 hours. I have way too many things going on.
2.5.03 12:31 AM (Wednesday)  Falling asleep day
Today was major falling asleep day. I got five hours of sleep last night, and it had to be shared with last night and the day before last night (my all-nighter). 2nd, 3rd, and 4th periods I was out several times.

During lunch I went to Yoshino's and I wasn't even that hungry. Oh well... first time I've been out to lunch in a while.

Oh yeah afterschool I rode the bus Downtown, and then rode the bus again to my ortho. near Southcenter. Kinda annoying. I did the same thing going back, stopped at the first stop in Chinatown, and took the 42 home. I arrived a little after 5, which was good timing. I took the longest nap, too, so that's really refreshing. Time for work!
2.3.03 8:56 PM (Monday)  Another case o' the Mondays
Today was the suckiest day I had to dredge through in a long time. I considered staying home and not staying home, now that I survived the day I'm still not sure it was worth it.

I was falling asleep in periods 1-4. During lunch we had a Key Club Officers meeting which was actually refreshing; we get so much done, and it's really fun at the same time. Kinda sad we're just getting the hang of it, with two months more until convention, and the new officers will take charge.

5th and 6th weren't at all interesting, however. 6th period none of the computers were working on the network so no one got anything done.

Afterschool I went to band practice. We started composing my grocery store song! And then I got a ride to Central. Central was kinda boring, but I had to stay awake so I mixed in a few games of Text Twist and Literti while paying attention.

I am so tired. I stayed up all last night, stupid me. I'll probably pull another all-nighter tonight.
  2.2.03 12:45 AM (Sunday)  February 1st
Okay so let's see. Last night was chock-full of Key Club fun, and Justin Terada ended up doing me a big favor by driving me to the all-night Post Office in SeaTac where I postmarked the dues at 11:57. So that was fun.

This morning I felt quite sick, so I slowed things down a bit. I worked on the Gates Millennium Scholarship the entire day, turning it in at 8 PM, an hour before the 12:00 EST deadline. I think I officially quit NHS today. Yeah...
